Zelotypia

Zelotypia is a medical term for, “monomaniacal zeal in the interest of any project or cause.” [1] Medical marijuana patients frequently display a single-minded vehemence for using the natural medicine even when faced with the threat of severe criminal penalties. [2] Such unswerving determination demonstrates the tremendous value of this illegal medicine in improving a patient’s quality of life. [3] Similarly, without exception, state laws protecting medical marijuana patients have been won by patients’ rights groups that epitomize zelotypia in practice. The nationwide trend of support for medical marijuana laws has developed with extraordinary zeal for the cause. [4]

As of this writing, the medical marijuana controversy rages across America. While critics may refuse to acknowledge the science presented here, brave individuals take heart in the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a handful of thoughtful, committed people can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has.” [5]
