Nausea and vertigo are reported in severe cases. The cause of this debilitating illness remains unknown, and there are no effective therapies. Cannabis has been used for long-term symptomatic treatment in one documented case where physicians authorized a patient to smoke marijuana in a Berkeley, California hospital.[i] No other medications have proved effective in relieving that patient’s incapacitating symptoms.
